Trust The Process Project exists because trans men in Dallas deserve a place that was designed with them in mind from the beginning, not adapted for them after the fact.
We are peer-led. The people running this work are the people living it. That shapes everything: how we show up, what we offer, and who gets to decide what comes next.
What we believe
Process over performance
Transition, healing, and growth are not linear, and nobody here is asked to have it figured out.
Peers first
Lived experience is expertise. The person across from you has been where you are.
Nobody earns their way in
There is no membership, no eligibility screen, no proving yourself. If this is for you, it is for you.
What peer-led means here
A lot of organizations say they serve trans men. Fewer are run by them. That difference shows up in small ways and large ones.
It means nobody has to explain the basics before they can get to what they actually came to talk about. It means the person offering support has navigated the same systems, sat in the same waiting rooms, and made the same calculations about safety, disclosure, and cost. It means when we build something, we are building it for ourselves too.
Peer-led is not a substitute for professional care, and we will always connect people to clinical and legal support when that is what they need. It is a recognition that some things are best learned from someone who has already walked it.
Who we serve
Trans men and transmasculine people in Dallas and across North Texas. We pay particular attention to Black trans men, who are routinely underserved even within programs designed for trans communities.
You do not need to be out. You do not need to be on hormones, post-op, or any particular distance into your process. You do not need documentation, a diagnosis, or anyone’s permission. Wherever you are is where we meet you.
Meet our founder
Twan McGary is the Founder and Executive Director of Trust The Process Project, where he leads efforts to create greater access, visibility, connection, and support for transgender communities.
As a Black trans man, Twan brings lived experience and years of direct community work to his leadership. His professional background spans gender-affirming case management, HIV and STI testing, healthcare navigation, legal referrals for name and gender marker changes, peer support, youth engagement, and community education.
Through Trust The Process Project, Twan works to address the barriers that shape trans people’s daily lives, with a focus on Black trans men and others who are routinely overlooked by traditional programs and services. His work creates spaces where people can access resources, build meaningful connections, develop leadership skills, and receive support without judgment.
Twan has worked alongside organizations including Resource Center, Black Trans Advocacy Coalition, and AIDS United supported initiatives. His leadership has been recognized with a nomination for a National Black Trans Advocacy Award and selection for the LGBTQ Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s 2026 LGBTQ+ Leadership Institute.
He continues to build Trust The Process Project around a clear belief: people deserve the resources, respect, representation, and opportunity to move forward on their own terms.
Why the name
Trust the process gets said a lot, usually by people who are not in the hard part of it. We mean something more specific.
The process is rarely fast and almost never clean. There are setbacks, waiting periods, denials, and stretches where nothing seems to move. Trusting it does not mean pretending that is easy. It means staying in it, and not staying in it by yourself.

We are based in Dallas and serve trans men across North Texas.
How we are structured
Trust The Process Project operates as a fiscally sponsored project of Community Unity Respect and Education, Inc., known as C.U.R.E., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in North Texas, EIN 26-1835543. Contributions made in support of our work are received and administered by C.U.R.E. on our behalf, and are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Fiscal sponsorship lets us do the work now instead of waiting on paperwork. Our programs, our decisions, and our direction remain our own.
